We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the students, staff, and families of the Middle School Institute of Science and Technology within Spokane Public Schools.

We are the dedicated Parent Teacher Group supporting the students, families, and staff of the Middle School Institute of Science and Technology (M-IST) Program for 6th–8th graders. Our mission is to foster a vibrant, supportive community that enhances the M-IST educational experience.
About Our History & Community Impact
Founded to foster a robust STEM learning environment, the M-IST PTG serves as the vital bridge between parents and school administration. Through community advocacy and targeted fundraising, we ensure that specialized academic tools, student experiences, and community resources are accessible to all families. Over our history, we have successfully organized school-wide events, built community engagement, and provided direct organizational oversight to enhance our students' education.
Programs & Services
Academic Enrichment Grants: Funding supplemental field trips, lab equipment, and specialized STEM classroom materials.
Community Mobilization: Hosting educational parent socials, transition orientations for incoming 6th-grade families, and community networking events to support student development.
Volunteer & Administrative Support: Providing coordinating services for school functions and supporting staff initiatives to foster a collaborative educational environment.

- Fundraising: Support enriching activities, classroom supplies, and technology upgrades unique to the M-IST program.
